NORDIC FILM MUSIC DAYS

The partner festival of Music Meets Film, Nordic Film Music Days invites you to join the film music festival on February 16th-18th 2024. The music days will take place at Nordic Embassies, the main venue of Berlinale Film Festival

On February 16,  in collaboration with the Baltic Embassies in Germany and three major film festivals in the Baltic region: PÖFF's Industry@Tallinn & Music Meets Film (EE), Vilnius International Film Festival Kino Pavasaris (LT), and Riga International Film Festival (LV) we present BALTIC NIGHTS: 4 short films with scores from Baltic composers.

  • ESTONIA Tanel Kadalipp with score for Eeva Mägi 3rd Octave F 
  • LITHUANIA Paulius Klibauskas & Vygintas Kisevičius with score for Eitvydas Doškus’ Once Upon a Vilnius
  • LATVIA Artūrs Liepiņš with score for Žanete Skarule No Regrets and Fable

Since 2010, Nordic composers have joined forces to put focus on Nordic Film Music and Nordic Film with the HARPA Nordic Film Composers Award.

Since 2016, Nordic Film Music Days and the HARPA Nordic Film Composers Award have been taking place at the Nordische Botschaften in Berlin simultaneously with Berlinale Film Festival. It’s a unique opportunity to spotlight Nordic composers and to celebrate their music during this prestigious festival.

PÖFF Shorts in Clermont-Ferrand 2024!
 
The largest short film festival and market in the world will be once again graced by a large Baltic presence as filmmakers, festivals and industry from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania all prepare to attend.

The delegation of Baltic Shorts at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market 2024 consists of representatives from PÖFF Shorts (Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival), the Estonian Film Institute, Riga International Short Film Festival 2ANNASRiga International Film FestivalLatvian Animation Association, the National Film Centre of LatviaVilnius Short Film Festival, and the Lithuanian Short Film Agency “Lithuanian Shorts”.

On Wednesday, 7th of February the market will screen Baltic Shorts 2024, a film collection containing the freshest short films from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Seven animation and fiction films will be made available for industry professionals to experience the brightest and freshest new films from the region. Many of the films are work-in-progress or just recently finished and looking for distribution, sales opportunities or festival premieres.

The screening will be followed by the Baltic Shorts “Meet & Greet”.

SAVE THE DATES

The 28th edition of Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival will be held 8-24 November 2024. The festival’s industry platform Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event will run 18-22 November 2024.

Film submissions will be open from the 1st of March 2024, including the main festival (PÖFF), as well as Youth and Children's Film Festival Just Film.
