Rainer Sarnet’s feature November is now in cinemas.
November is based on the Estonian bestselling novel Rehepapp by Andrus Kivirähk. The story is a mixture of magic, black humor and romantic love and takes place in a pagan village where werewolves, the plague, and our ancestral spirits roam.

Estonia at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival.
The Trial: The State of Russia vs Oleg Sentsov by Askold Kurov has been chosen to the official program of the 67th Berlin International Film Festival. The film will be screened at the Berlinale Special 2017 section.

Estonian viewers as top European cinemagoers appreciate domestic film
Estonian film audiences, ascending to the top tier of European cinemagoers per capita, have year-by-year shown a steady rise in their interest towards domestic film according to the figures of 2016 that saw the crowd-pleasing hit-comedy Class Reunion as their highest-grossing film.

The Trial: The State of Russia vs Oleg Sentsov by Askold Kurov
Documentary premieres at the 67th Berlin Film Festival, February 11th, 2017.
The film follows the trial of Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov, arrested by the Russian security service at his home in Crimea for his pro-Ukrainian sentiments. It is a portrait of both Oleg and of the colossus he is opposing.

Damascus by Jaanus Kulli and Jaan Kolberg will premiere in February 2017.
Damascus is a film about Estonian people and nationality which asks the question as to whether and to how we can exist as a free nation. The film is told through the character of blacksmith Taimo who explores this topic, while preparing to make a Damascus steel sword, a symbol of masculinity, freedom and strength.
